Well, you've made it. You have gathered, reviewed and purged that stack of photos you have been moving around for the past several years. Now comes the fun part - deciding what to do with them. Here are several suggestions for displaying or keeping your most cherished images. 1) Make an album for each child as a gift for a birthday, grauation or other momentous occasion. Scrapbooking and craft stores have a wonderful selection of albums and embellishments to create a real treasure. 2) Create a family collage of several generations of the family that can be passed down from one generation to the next. Be sure to attach a legend to the back of the frame with names, dates and relationships. Your family will appreciate it. 3)Enlarge your favorite image from a vacation and turn it into a work of art. 4)Do the same with family pictures, that you can use to frame and create wall art. 5)Gather your favorite vacation images and take them to a printer to create a calendar. The list of ideas is limited only by your imagination. If you have any other super ideas, let us know and we will post them on the blog. E-mail your ideas to Barb at sales@ttwss.com. If you do nothing else with the images you have saved, at least they will be in one place and available for easy access the next time you need them. I hope this helped make a seemingly daunting task a little bit easier.

Listen up seniors! The deadline to be photographed for inclusion in your high school yearbook is fast approaching. All Bay High seniors must be photographed by Friday,Sept.12 and all Rocky River seniors must be photographed by Tuesday,Sept.9. If you are involved in a fall sport or extracurricular activity, it is important that you make your appointment A.S.A.P. Each high school determines the deadline for your yearbook picture and passes that on to Thomas & Thomas. So pick up your cell phone and give us a call at 440-835-4707. If you have already been photogtaphed but have not made your selection for the yearbook, please give us a call or stop in to the studio and let us know which image you would like us to send to the yearbook staff. We will be happy to assist you.

In the final issue of the Thomas & Thomas newsletter, Preview, we began a series on organizing your family photos. Step One involved three easy activities which would help make the process a bit less overwhelming. To recap, we suggested that you 1) find a spot where you can spread out, work on this project, and not have to pack up all your materials each time. Gather the containers you will be using for sorting, such as, photo boxes, shoe boxes, clear plastic containers, or large manila envelopes. 2) Gather all of your photos and keep them in your work area. Search through drawers, old albums, closets and any other places you may have "stored" your photos in the past. 3) Discard any photos that are blurry, duplicates, or are images of people or places that you cannot identify. Now on to Step Two ----- 1) Group your photos by categories (i.e. immediate family, relatives, pets, special occasions, holidays, etc.) You may want to take this one step further and arrange the photos as best you can in chronological order. 2) Choose up to 25 (or more if you must) of your favorite images in each category. This may be the most difficult part. Choose the images that you have an emotional attachment to or that you feel have an artistic flair. Place the selected images in a manila envelope labeled with the category name. 3) Place all of the manila envelopes in one large container. Congratulations! You are now ready for Step Three. Phew!!! It has been really busy around Thomas & Thomas Studio these past few weeks. We have been having a great time photographing some very happy events. First Communion portraits, Bay High Prom and spring sports have come and gone. We also captured the glitz and glitter of the dance recitals for emjaez Dance Studio and Metta Rose Dance Academy. As we catch our breath and stock up on Wheaties, we are looking forward to Bay High Graduation,our summer weddings, summer sports and of course, next year's Seniors from Bay High, Rocky River, Avon Lake, Magnificat, Westlake and other area schools. In between, we will be offering our Family and Children's specials. And they say preparing for the Boston Marathon is a lot of work!
